An Edwardian Mahogany Bureau Bookcase with Fitted Interior & Cushioned Glass Doors

A great looking Edwardian mahogany bureau bookcase with fitted interior and set with cushioned glass doors. The bureau is made from mahogany, which has a great rich colour to it. The bureau is formed with the top section being set with two door and each set with 8 pieces of cushioned glass, giving it a different look than normal. Opening the doors it has three shelves which can be set to various positions. The base section has the fall front which when opening it automatically pulls forward the fitted interior. The interior has two lidded angled storage sections and then in between these there is various pigeon hole slots. The fall front inside is set with a black writing pad. The base of the bureau is set with three full length storage drawers. To the top of the bureau it has a shaped cornice with carved detail to the centre. The whole bureau is raised on squat cabriole ball and claw supports. The bureau splits into three section for ease of moving. It dates to around 1910-1920.
