A Pair of Vintage Art Deco C1930s Cinema Theatre Seats or Chairs Red Velvet with Aisle End Panel

A pair of vintage or retro Art Deco circa 1930s cinema or theatre seats or chairs, which are upholstered in there original red velvet material, and are set to one end with a decorative aisle end panel. The seats are formed with the backs being curved, and having wooden top rails. The seat backs are then padded and upholstered in the red velvet material. The backs of the seats are wooden which are painted black. The seat bases fold down and are again deeply padded and upholstered in the same red velvet material. The bottom of the seats are covered in stained and polished wooden panels. The arm sections of the seats are made from cast iron, which give it a good weight. They have been re sprayed in gold. To the right hand side as you look at the seats there is a decorative aisle end panel, this is moulded with GB and a sunburst design coming away from it. To the tops of the arms there are polished and shaped wooden arm rests. The pair of seats will freestand, but can be easily added to a mount or plinth. The seats date to around 1930 and were removed from a cinema in Scarborough. The seats would be ideal for a hallway, feature, cafe seating, hotel seating or interior design setting.

Condition
The condition of the chairs are excellent, with light scuffs and marks to the wooden areas, the material is very good may have a light mark as original to the seat, nothing major. Overall a very comfy pair of seats ready to be placed and used.
