A Quality Victorian Ladies Oak Kneehole Leather Set Desk Raised on Turned Supports
A quality Victorian ladies oak and light oak kneehole desk, with inset tooled leather writing pad and raised on turned supports. The design is made from oak, which has a nice light colour and grain patination to it. The desk is formed with the top having rounded edges and then being set with a tan brown leather writing pad. The leather writing pad has tooled leather decoration at the edge. The base of the desk is set with a central drawer and then two short drawers at either side of this. The drawer fronts are made from a lighter oak and having an ebonized trim around the edge giving a little contrast. Each drawer has a Gothic looking drop handle. Around the kneehole section there is a little bit of carving depicting a fan and a spray of leaves and berries. The legs on the desk are tapering and turned. It is then raised on casters. The desk dates to around 1870-1880.

Condition
The condition of the desk is excellent, with light marks and scuffs. The desk on a wooden or hard floor has the slightest of rock, but on a carpeted floor you don’t see this.
