A Victorian Painted Pine Engineers Tool Chest Coffee Table Storage Box

A Victorian painted pine engineers tool chest or trunk, ideal to be used as a coffee table or storage box full of character. The box is made from pine, which has been painted black at some point but now is worn in places adding great character and aged patina to the look of it. The top is set with a plank top. To either side of the trunk it is set with a large iron drop carry handle. To the front it is stencilled with what id guess is the original owners initials FWP. Opening the case it is set in the lid with small riveted leather sections, brass holders and wooden turning all for holding different things through the years. The base of the box is empty and plain pine. We have added a clear layer of wax to the inside and buffed to add a smooth feel and shine. We have also done the same to the outside adding a little shine and protecting the wood. The box would be ideal as a coffee table or a storage trunk for boots wellies etc or even kids toys. The box dates to around 1900.

Condition
The condition of the trunk is excellent, with light wear to the paint, light scuffs, scratches and marks, but it has had a clear waxed finish added. Overall ready to be placed and used.
