An Excellent Art Nouveau Mahogany and Leather Topped Desk Stones Patent Pop Up Interior

An excellent quality Art Nouveau mahogany and leather topped writing desk, with Stones Patent pop up interior. The desk is made from mahogany, which has a rich colour and grain patination. The desk is formed with the top having a shaped edge, with it having a stepped rim. To the centre of the desk top it has an inset olive green leather writing pad, with tooled rim. The  desk is set with a single drawer, which has Art Nouveau handles, inside the drawer it is marked for Stones Patent. This is where the desk gets even better. The desk pulls towards the front, and from inside a stationary cabinet pops up, this is set with various pigeon holes, pen stand, inkwells, lidded stamp boxes. When finished with the desk you just push the desk top back and the stationary cabinet slides back under the top. The whole desk is raised on shaped slender cabriole legs. The desk is of real quality and of a great small size. The desk dates to around 1900.
