A C19th Bamford Farming Corn Mill Converted to a Glass Topped Side Table

A very unusual late C19th Bamford corn mill or grinder hopper converted to a glass topped side table. The table is made from a large late C19th Bamford corn mill top section. The table is formed with us using the pine grain hopper and having a piece of toughened glass inset into it. The hopper has its original cast iron makers label to the outside on one side and another cast iron label for a retailer in Doncaster on another. The hopper is still attached to the cast iron base with original blue paint still on it. Underneath there is the wooden hopper tray which is still adjustable with the handle. We have then mounted it down to one of the farms old flooring beam, which we have cut to size and bolted it to. We have waxed the beam leaving old paint on it. The size table is very unusual and a one off piece, making a great looking side or lamp table with lots of history and character. The base of the Bamford will be available soon as we are in the process waxing it up for use as a dining table.

Size
Height 32”
Width of Base 24.75”
Depth of Hopper 24.5”

Condition
The condition of the table is excellent, with paint chips to the cast iron, marks on the wood from years of use on a local farm, the only bits not original are the bolts to bolt it down and the new glass top everything else is as it was in the barn where we found it.
