An Edwardian Inlaid Mahogany Bureau Bookcase with Fitted Interior and Raised on Cabriole Supports
An Edwardian inlaid mahogany bureau bookcase, with fitted interior and raised on cabriole supports. The bureau is made from mahogany, which has a great colour and grain patination. The bureau is also inlaid with satinwood banding, around the drawers, fall front, doors and cornice. There is an Inlaid oval motif on the fall front aswell. The base section is formed with it having the angled fall front. When you open that the support arms automatically come out to support. It is lined in light oak. It is set with various pigeon holes and small storage drawers. The the rest of the base there is three storage drawers. The top section has two large glazed doors. It is set with three shelves which can be altered in position. The bureau has a moulded caddy top, and is raised on small cabriole supports. The bureau bookcase splits into three sections for ease of moving. The bookcase dates to around 1905-1910.
