An Antique Heavily Carved Oak Wall or Pier Mirror with Shield Motif

An antique heavily carved dark oak wall or pier mirror, with shield motif to the top. The mirrors frame is made from oak, which has a great rich colour. The mirror is formed with it having a heavily carved frame, carved with stylised motifs, swirls and leaf designs around the edges. Across the bottom of the frame it has a raised panel with incised decoration. Across the top of the mirror it has a shaped top with castlated edge. To the centre  f the top of the mirror is the shield motif. The shield motif has a globe and wreaths design on it. The mirror plate has a bevel edge, which we think is the original plate. The back has pine back board which doesn’t look like it’s ever been removed. The mirror we believe dates to around mid C19th around 1860.
