An Antique Georgian Style Mahogany Bureau Bookcase with Fitted Interior

An Edwardian Georgian style mahogany astrical glazed bureau bookcase with fitted interior and raised on bracket feet. The bureau bookcase is made from mahogany which has a good rich colour and grain patination. The base section of the bureau bookcase has the angled front, which has a circular flame mahogany section with stringing around the edge of it. Opening the fall front it revels the fitted interior. It has a shaped barren baize writing pad. To the back it has various shaped pigeon holes, storage drawers, a central lockable cupboard and then two secret sliding drawers, which are disguised as columns either side of the lockable cupboard. Below this there are four graduated storage drawers. The top section of the bureau bookcase has two astrical glazed doors. There is three shelves which can be adjusted to various positions. The bureau bookcase is raised on shaped bracket feet. The bookcase is Georgian in style Bur dates to around 1910. The bureau bookcase splits into two sections for ease of moving.

Condition
The condition of the bureau bookcase is excellent, with light scuffs, scratches and marks. The interior baize has a few stains and marks on it but we like this as this shows the age of the piece. Overall a great useful piece of furniture ready to be used.
