A Victorian Stained Ash Kitchen Stool, Raised on Turned Supports with Waxed Finish
A good quality Victorian ash kitchen stool, raised on turned and tapering support with cross stretcher and with waxed finish. The stool is made from ash, which has been stained slightly darker and then had a waxed finish applied. The stool is formed with it having a circular seat with shaped seat and moulded edge rim. The stool is raised on turned and taping supports, with various ring turnings around the legs. Between the legs there is a turned cross stretcher adding strength to the legs. The stool has had a clear wax finish added, which adds a little shine to the wood. The stool probably dates to around 1890.
