Description
A Victorian Carved Oak Hall or Bedroom Chair Raised on Fluted Supports and Freshly Reupholstered
A Victorian carved oak hall, bedroom or side chair, raised on turned and fluted supports and with lion mask carvings, which has been freshly reupholstered in a giraffe pattern material. The chair is made from oak, which has a good colour and grain patination. The chair is formed with the back having carved lion heads on either side. There is then the deeply padded and upholstered back rest, which has been freshly done in a giraffe print material and with a studded edge. Below the back rest there is five turned columns. The seat of the chair has also been deeply padded and upholstered in the same material. The base of the chair has turned and fluted legs with h shaped cross stretcher. It also has a carved and shaped front stretcher. The chair dates to around 1890, but has been freshly reupholstered. We wanted to make the chair standout and be unusual and we think we have done this, the chair could be placed anywhere and look great.
