A Set of Six Victorian Carved Mahogany Balloon Back Dining Chairs Black Velvet Seats

A set of six Victorian carved mahogany balloon back dining chairs, raised on turned supports and with black velvet seat pads. The chairs are made from mahogany, which has a good colour and grain patination. The chairs are formed with the backs of the seats having a slight balloon back shape to them. The backs have a carved roundel to the centre of the back and then centre of the smaller back support bar. There is also incised carving around the chair backs. The seat bases on the chairs have been recently reupholstered in a black velvet material. The chairs are formed with the front legs being turned and tapered. The back legs on the chairs are angled square supports. The chairs dates to around 1890-1900.

Condition
The condition of the chairs are excellent, with light scuffs and marks to the wood. All the chairs have solid joints and the material is excellent. Ready to be placed and used.
