A Large Victorian Carved Mahogany Display Cabinet over Cupboard Base

A Large Victorian carved mahogany display cabinet or bookcase, raised over cupboard base. The bookcase is made from mahogany, which has a great colour and grain patination. The base is set with a full length secret looking top storage drawer. Under this there is two cupboard doors, each panelled. Either side of the top drawer there is a carved mahogany decorative support. The top section is slightly thinner than the base. It is set with two full length doors, each glazed. The interior of the bookcase has been painted in a very pale green to white colour. It has then had toughened glass shelf’s made. This makes it ideal for display purposes. It also has had two lights fitted in the top so it can be lit up again to show off the display. The the very top it has a caddy top, with a carved pediment. The very top carved pediment can be removed easily to make 4-5 inches smaller. We do have the original wooden shelf’s if you wanted to swap from the glass. The whole bookcase splits into a couple of sections for ease of moving. The bookcase dates to around 1880.

Condition
The condition of the bookcase is excellent, it has light scuffs and marks commensurate to age. The interior has been painted. It has a couple of small pieces of veneer missing on the top, but nothing major overall ready to be used.
