A C19th Ebonized Cased Mantle Clock Chiming on a Bell by Rollin A Pairs
An early C19th ebonized cased mantle clock, by Rollin A Paris, which is chiming half hourly on a bell. The clock is formed with with the case being ebonized. It is square formed and having a slightly stepped plinth. The dial on the clock is gilt coloured and is then engraved with stylised design. It has black roman numeral markers. To the top of the clock it has a spelter model. The spelter model depicts two small cherubs who are surrounded by barrels grapes etc. Opening the back it shows the French cylinder movement with the bell. The back is marked for Rollin A Paris and 378. The clock dates to the early to mid C19th. The clock comes with its original key but no pendulum but there not hard to get hold of.

Condition
The condition of clock is very good, it has has a repair to the back door, light rubbing to the case. The clock seems to be working away fine but needs a pendulum.

i have the same clock but grandfather cut the cherubs off and replaced with wood.
Works well but a little slow.

Yes its a very nice clock, yours may need a service and an oil if its not been done after all theses years. Then hopefully it will be back to its best and keeping better time.
