A Late Georgian Mahogany Dwarf Bookcase over Cabinet Raised on Tulip Feet

A late Georgian mahogany dwarf bookcase, raised over a two door cabinet base and with tulip feet. The bookcase is of excellent quality and of a great size. It is made of mahogany which has a great rich colour and grain patination. The bookcase is formed with the top section being set with two glazed doors. Opening the doors it has two shelves which are gradually spaced from 8-10 inches. The top of the bookcase has a moulded edge. The base of the bookcase is deeper than the top. It is set with two cupboards each with flame mahogany panels inset in them. Opening the cupboard doors, each side is fitted with a single shelf. The whole bookcase is raised on tulip shaped turned feet. The bookcase dates to around 1820-1830. It comes with keys for each door.
