Description

A Mid Victorian Mahogany 3 High Bedroom Chest of Drawers, Raised on Bracket Feet

A mid Victorian circa 1850 mahogany three high bedroom chest of drawers, of small size, raised on bracket feet. The chest is made from mahogany, which has a great colour and grain patination along with lovely figuring to the drawers. The chest is formed with the rectangular top having ebony stringing and crossbanding around the edge. The chest is then set with three graduated drawers each set with oval back plates and drop handles. The chest is then raised on bracket feet. The chest is of a great smaller than usual size and would fit into a lot of places. The chest dates to around 1850.

Condition
The condition of the chest is excellent, with light scuffs and marks. There is no key for the drawers. There is a few tiny veneer chips around the feet and drawer edges. The left hand side has a few small age related cracks and same at the back edges of the top due to shrinkage over the years, all in keeping with an antique chest of drawers. Overall a good solid original chest ready to be placed and used.
