A Large Victorian Scumbled or Painted Pine Three Drawer Side Table Excellent Retail Piece

A very large Victorian scumbled or painted pine, three drawer side table or buffet, which would be great in a retail setting or in large hallway. The side table is made from pine, which the base has been scumbled or painted and the top has waxed planks. The side table is formed with the base being still in its original scumbled or painted finish. This is done in a deep red colour, which is more worn around the handles, and drawer edges from years of use. The side table is set with three large storage drawers, each with a central lacquered brass cup handle. There is a moulded trim below the drawers. The side table is raised on long well turned tapering legs. The top is set with four wide pine planks, which have been waxed. We have had the top waxed in a rustic colour and the base we have only added a light coat of clear wax to protect and add a little shine. The side table is of a large size and scale and would be ideal in a large entrance or in a retail shop setting to display lots of items. The side table dates to around 1870-1880, and is out of a railway office.

Condition
The condition of the side table is excellent, with various light scuffs and marks to the base and top. We have had the top and base waxed. There is a small piece of wood missing off the back leg and a couple of small bits missing off one of the turned legs. The table is overall excellent, solid and ready to be placed and used.
