A Victorian Mahogany Sideboard or Double Chest Set with Four Drawers & Cupboard

An unusual Victorian mahogany sideboard or double chest of drawers, set with four drawers and a cupboard, raised on cabriole supports. The sideboard is made from mahogany, which has a good colour and grain patination. The sideboard is formed with it having a stepped and rounded edge. It then has a small shaped back pediment. The back pediment has a small oval carving to the centre. The sideboard is then set with three graduated drawers to the left hand side and then on the right hand side it would of originally had the same but at some point it has been very well altered to have a single drawer to the top and then a cupboard below this. They have left the front to look like it’s still a chest of two drawers. The alteration has been done a long time and well done. Opening the cupboard it has a single shelf giving good storage areas. 5e whole sideboard or couple chest of drawers is raised on cabriole supports. The sideboard dates to around 1890-1905.

Condition
The condition of the sideboard is very good, there are light scuffs and marks to the top and drawers fronts commensurate to age. The cupboard section has been altered from drawers originally but been very well done, overall a good piece with lots of storage areas.
