A Small Vintage Mahogany work Box or Sewing Box, Freshly Relined and Raised on Cabriole Supports

A small vintage mahogany work box or sewing box, which has been freshly refitted in a turquoise material and is raised on slender cabriole supports. The cabinet is made from mahogany, which has a good rich colour and grain patination. The box is formed with it having a lift up lid, the lid is square with angled corners and stepped edges. Once the top is lifted up, it reviles the fitted interior. The underside of the lid has been padded, deep buttoned and upholstered in a turquoise material. The interior of the box has has the walls and base also padded and covered in the same material. To the front of the cabinet there is a small single drawer to the bottom with brass drop handle, this pulls our and is sectioned off, each section has had a padded bottom put in. The whole cabinet is raised on slender cabriole supports. The cabinet probably dates to around 1930, but has a very good functional use today.

Condition
The condition of the cabinet is excellent, with light the odd light mark, it has been light repolished leaving character but making useable straight away.
