Description
A Carved & Panelled Oak C1920s Sideboard with Barleytwist Supports
A great looking carved and panelled oak circa 1920s sideboard, raised on barleytwist supports, which has recently been fully repolished. The sideboard is made from oak, which has a good rich honey colour to it. The sideboard is formed with it having a small stepped back rest, which has a carved central motif. The carving has swirls and stylised flower heads on it, this carving style is continued onto the drawer fronts aswell. The edge of the top is stepped and rounded. To the front of the sideboard it has two top drawers with rope twist edges and the carved motif to the centre. Below these there are two cupboards these are panelled and carved, once open these give a great storage area. The sideboard is set with brass drop handles. The sideboard is raised on turned and barleytwist supports with cross stretchers and a carved pediment. The sideboard dates to around 1920 and is of a great size and would fit in lots of places.
