A Victorian turned Mahogany child’s open arm chair with rush work base, ideal for use as a display chair for antique dolls or bears. The chair is made from mahogany, which has a good colour and grain patination. The chair is formed with it having a shaped top rest and reeded side supports framing a row of slender turned bars which make the back rest. The arms of the chair come out from the back and these again have reeded lines down them. The seat base is done in rush cane work. The base of the chair is raised on turned supports with turned stretchers between the legs. The chair dates to around 1890.
