A Victorian Painted and Waxed Pine Woodworkers Tool Chest with Fitted Interior, Coffee Table Storage Trunk

A Victorian Painted and waxed pine woodworkers tool chest or trunk, with fitted interior. Ideal for use as a coffee table, or bedroom hallway storage box. The chest is made from pine, which has its original black paint finish. We have clear waxed the exterior of the trunk to give it a shine and protect the years of wear that has created the patina finish it has. The trunk is formed with it having a large iron carry handle on either side. Around the base it has a shaped moulded trim. The main body of the trunk is plain. The top is flat and solid. Opening the trunk it has a stain pine interior. To the top is has two decorative square panels fitted into the top. Inside the trunk it has two sliding fitted trays and then it’s also fitted in the base with segments. The trunk comes with its original key for the lock. Overall a great tool chest probably made as an apprentice to store his woodworking tools in. It is now ideal to be used as a coffee table, hallway or bedroom storage trunk. The chest dates to around 1890-1900.

Condition
The condition of the tool chest, is excellent, with no major damage or repair. It has lots of scuffs and marks which we have waxed in to add character and show it’s use over the years. Overall ready to be placed and used.
