A Victorian Mahogany Campaign Style Fall Front Bureau over Cabinet with Fitted Interior

A great looking Victorian mahogany campaign style fall front bureau, with fitted interior raised over cupboard base. The bureau is made from mahogany, which has a rich colour and grain patination. The bureau is formed with the top section folding down to revile the bureau section, set with various pigeon holes and three small drawers. It also has the rich red leather writing pad with gilt decoration on it. Around the edge of the leather the wood in strung in satinwood. Below this there is a single door cupboard, which has a shaped panel to the door. Inside is a single shelf which can be altered to various positions. The cabinet has a look of a piece of campaign furniture. To the top there is a small pierced brass gallery. The whole cabinet is raised on a caddy plinth. The cabinet dates to around 1880.

The condition of the bureau is excellent, it has just been professionally repolished to give its original colour back. The bureau is ready to be placed and used.
