A Victorian Carved & Pierced Mahogany Two Seater Open Sofa Raised on Cabriole Supports

A Victorian carved and pierced mahogany two seater open sofa raised on slender cabriole supports and upholstered in a multi tone purple wool material. The sofas frame is made from a dark mahogany. The sofa is formed with the back rest having a carved central splat, carved with blind fret and pierced carvings. It is carved with swirls, leaves and stylised designs. The back has two oval upholstered back rests. The whole sofa has been recently upholstered in a multi purple tone wool upholstery and the has a purple trim around the edge. The seat is deeply padded and sprung and also upholstered in the same material. It has a shaped front to the chair. The arms on the sofa curve round and are wood fronted and are again padded and upholstered. On the back the sofa has the two roundels which are upholstered on the back aswell. The whole sofa is raised on slender cabriole supports. The sofa would be ideal in a living room, conservatory, reception, bedroom. The sofa dates to around 1880, but has been reupholstered.

Condition
The condition of the sofa is excellent, with light scuffs and marks to the wooden areas. The chair has been reupholstered so that is fine. Overall ready to be placed and used.
