A Victorian Carved Oak Fireside Nursing Chair Upholstered in Patterned Material

A Victorian carved oak fireside nursing chair, raised on turned supports and being upholstered in a patterned material. The chair is made from oak, which has a good colour and grain patination. The chair is formed with it having a carved and shaped back support to the top. It is carved with shell and leaves. To either side of the back it has reeded supports with scroll on top. There is small side supports at the bottom of the back. The chair has been reupholstered and deeply padded with a patterned material. The material has Latin writing, flowers, trees on it. The seat base is also deeply padded and upholstered in the same material. The chair is raised on turned supports with casters on the bottom. The chair dates to around 1890-1900.
