A Victorian Aesthetic Period Ebonised and Gilt Fold Over Card Games Table

A great looking Victorian Aesthetic Period ebonised and gilt Fold over games card table. The table is fully ebonised and with carved and gilt decoration. The table is formed with the top being rectangular with rounded edges and stepped edge. The top has a carved motif to each edge and a line decoration around the sides. The top folds over and turns, it is then lined with a shaped green baize games or card surface. The green baize has a tooled decoration around the edge. Around the edge of the table is again has the carved and gilt motifs to the edge and lines around the edge. The base of the table is heavily carved and turned and again with there is lots of gilt highlights. The base has turned and reeded supports and cross strengthening bar. The carving on the base has Greek key designs, floral motifs and swirls and small urns. The table is raised on small casters. The table dates to around 1880.

Condition
The condition of the table is very good, there is light scuffs and marks, there is also light cracks to some of the ebonising through age. Overall a very good looking and useable table.
