A Large Victorian Carved Walnut Single Door Bedside Cabinet or Pot Cupboard

A Large Victorian carved walnut single door bedside cabinet or pot cupboard, which is oversized compared to normal. The cabinet is made from walnut, which has a great colour and grain patination. The cabinet has ebonised highlights around the door, top rim, base rim and sides, just adding a little contrast to the walnut. The cabinet is formed with it having a full length single door, set with a single panel. The panel is carved stylised floral motif, line boarder and small turnings in each corner. The door is set with a single turned wooden handle. The top of the cabinet has stepped and rounded edges, with a small carved back rest. Opening the cabinet it is set with a single shelf adding extra storage areas. The whole cabinet is raised on a caddy plinth with rounded edges. The cabinet dates to around 1870.
