A large early Victorian scumbled or painted pine two door country house or estate pantry cupboard or larder. The cupboard is made from pine, which has been scumbled or painted, painted various times over the years. The cupboard is formed with it being set with two full length doors, each set with three panels with moulded edges. The body of the cabinet has got the painted finish, this has various colours coming out of it, like blues, mustards, yellows and the paint has crackled and all merged together over the years to give this fantastic patina on the cabinet. Opening the cabinet the interior is painted in the worn blue colour and the inside of the doors match the outside with the crackled finish. Inside it is set with two fixed top shelf’s and then a wooden rail has been added to let it be used to hang coats if wanted. The doors are set with original brass twist lock handles, along with interior clips, and a twist catch at the top. The cabinet is raised on a worn ebonised wooden plinth. The whole cabinet dates to around 1840, and has an amazing look to it.

Condition
The condition of the cabinet is excellent, with the cabinet having knocks, bangs and dents, from years of use. The bottom left hand panel has a crack in it but this is solid. The painted finish has wear, crackle glazing. The plinth may be a later addition but suites the cabinet well. Overall a stunning cabinet ready to be used.
