A Large C19th Flemish Carved and Painted Hall Cabinet or Buffet Sideboard

A large mid C19th Flemish carved, painted and waxed hall cabinet or buffet sideboard. The cabinet is made from oak, which as been painted and waxed in a muted grey colour, which is then heightened with a light coloured wax, adding a little colour and shine. The cabinet is formed with the base being set with two short top drawers, each with moulded fronts. Below the drawers there are two cupboard doors, each panelled and with raised mouldings on them. Down either side of the doors there are turned and fluted pillars. Opening the cabinet it is set with a single shelf. The interior of the base and top section it has been white washed with paint. The top section of the cabinet it is set with three panelled doors each again have moulded decoration on them of leaves, flowers and swirls. Being these doors there is a fitted shelf again. The whole cabinet is raised on turned ball feet. The cabinet split into three sections for ease of moving. The cabinet dates to around 1860-1880.

Condition
The condition of the cabinet is very good, the paint job isn’t original but does modernise the look to the cabinet. There is light knocks to the original body. Some small bits of moulding are split but now it’s Painted you cannot see it. Overall a great looking cabinet ready to be used.
