A Georgian Style Inlaid Mahogany Serpentine Fronted Bachelors Chest of Drawers with Brushing Slide

A Georgian style inlaid mahogany serpentine fronted bachelors chest of drawers set with brushing slide. The chest of drawers is made from mahogany, which has a good rich colour and grain patination. The chest is formed with it being serpentine in shape. The chest is then inlaid around the edge of the top with satinwood. It then has a double line stringing inlay around the top and around each drawer front. The chest is then set with four graduated full length storage drawers each with ornate drop handles. Above the top drawer there is a pull out brushing slide, which is just polished wood. Across the base of the chest there is a shaped skirt trim. The chest is raised on shaped bracket feet. The chest dates to around 1960s but is a copy of a period Georgian example. This is great sized chest of drawers ideal for a bedroom or small space.
