Description

A Georgian Oak Single Drawer Side Or Hall Table Raised on Square Supports

A Georgian oak single drawer hall or side table, raised on square supports. The side table is made from oak, which has a good colour and grain patination. The side table is formed with it having a plain top with rounded edges. The table is set with a single full length storage drawer. The drawer front has incised line decoration on the edge. The drawer is set with its original shaped brass drop handles. The side table is raised on square supports, and has cross stretchers between the legs, these have the incised line decoration on them. The table is of a charming size and has exposed peg joints. The table probably dates to around 1760-1780, and looks to have been painted at some point but now has a waxed finish.

Condition
The condition of the side table is excellent, with light scuffs and marks commensurate to age. There is an old repair to the corner of the drawer front. A couple of age related cracks and a couple of repairs on the base of the legs but nothing major all mentioned to be complete.
