A Georgian Flame Mahogany Bow Fronted Bachelors Chest of Drawers with Brushing Slide

A Georgian flame mahogany three drawer bow fronted bachelors chest of drawers with brushing slide and raised on shaped bracket feet. The chest of drawers is made from mahogany which has flame mahogany drawer fronts and top, which have amazing grain patination and colours. The chest is formed with it being bow fronted and then set with three full length graduated drawers. Each drawer has its lacquered brass drop handles. Opening the drawers each drawer is lined in oak. To the top of the chest there is a pull out brushing slide, with small brass handles. The top of the chest is a plain top great grain colours. The whole chest is raised on ogee or shaped bracket feet. The chest dates to around 1810-1820.

Condition

The condition of the chest is excellent, with light scuffs and marks. It as been repolished but done in a way to show its age but also in a way to show the amazing grain off. There is a couple of old veneer repairs but nothing major. There is an odd small age related crack on the brushing slide. Overall a great chest ready to be placed and used.
