A Chinese Carved Hardwood Fall Front Bureau with Fitted Interior

A Chinese or Oriental hardwood bureau, with carved decorations and with fitted interior raised on shaped square supports. The bureau is made from a hardwood, which is really heavy and has a great colour and straight grain patination. The bureau is formed with it having the angled fall front. The fall front is set with a central panel, carved with a circular motif. It is set with two grab holes to help open the front. To the base of the bureau it is set with two short top drawers raised above two cupboards. All the front is carved with, oriental stylings, roundels, moulded edges. Opening the base cupboards, it is set with a single shelf which can be adjusted to various positions. Opening the fall front, two arms come out to support the top. The interior is fitted with various pigeon holes, and a small drawer. The bureau dates to around 1950-60.

The condition of the bureau is excellent with light scuffs and marks. Overall a great piece ready to be placed and used.
