A Victorian inlaid oak bureau bookcase, with fitted interior and set with lead glazed doors. The bookcase is made from oak, which has a good rich colour and grain patination. The bookcase is Inlaid with herringbone stringing around the doors, fall front section, drawers and top. The bookcase is formed with the bureau section having an angled front. It has two pull out support arms. The bureaus interior is fitted with pigeon holes. To the rest of the base there is a single storage drawer. And then an open section with two shelf’s giving extra display or book storage. The top section of the bookcase is set with two door, each having lead glazed panels. Opening the doors it has two shelves which are adjustable to various positions. The top of the bureau is a shaped caddy top. The bureau bookcase is of small proportions so would fit in lots of places. The bureau dates to around 1900.
