A Victorian Style Carved Mahogany Bevel Edged Overmantle Mirror

A Victorian style carved mahogany bevel edged overmantle mirror. The mirror is formed with the frame being made from mahogany, which has a good rich colour and grain patination. The frame of the mirror has a stepped and rounded edge. To the top it has carved swags, swirls and leaves all across the top. Across the base there is a slightly wider base, coming up the edges of the mirror it has carved and pierced swirls and other motifs. The mirror itself is dome topped and is set with a bevel edged mirror. The overmantle mirror is Victorian in style but is probably only 30-40 years old.
