Description

A Victorian Carved Walnut Single Drawer Canterbury or Magazine Rack

A good quality Victorian carved walnut single drawer Canterbury raised on small baluster legs with brass casters. The Canterbury is made from walnut, which has a great colour and grain patination. The Canterbury is formed with it having a single drawer to the base with small turned wooden knob handles. To the top there is a carved and turned magazine section. This has four sectional supports, giving three storage sections. The section supports are carved and turned with a central wreath like design. The front one is pierced, and has scrolls coming off of it with a small flower to the bottom. There is a cross shaped support making the sections for storage. These are joined together with turned supports. The Canterbury is raised on squat baluster legs, with brass cup casters on the base. The Canterbury is of great quality and dates to around 1860.
