A Georgian Style Mahogany Serpentine Fronted Bachelors Chest of Drawers with Brushing Slide

A Georgian style mahogany serpentine fronted bachelors chest of graduated drawers with brushing slide and raised on bracket feet. The chest is made from mahogany, which has a good rich colour and good grain patination. The chest is formed with the top being crossbanded in mahogany. The edge of the chest is stepped and moulded. To the front of the chest it is set with four graduated drawers, each serpentine fronted and with corssbanded edges. Each drawer has ornate brass drop handles. To the top there is a brushing slide, which pulls out on small brass handles. The whole chest is raised on shaped bracket feet. The chest is copying a Georgian example, with this one dating to around 1970s. The chest is of a great size and would ideal for a small flat or for a bedside chest.
